Where is your focus? Is it on how terrible you are feeling? Maybe that you are stressed and overwhelmed?
Studies show that if we focus on our "healing", then our brain will respond and healing will begin. Positive thinking can cause a chain reaction in our brain causing the release of endorphins and other health inducing chemicals. Negative feelings can cause the release of adrenaline which can suppress the immune response and cause increased panic and anxiety. It's amazing the changes you can feel if you just "fake" the thought for awhile.
I realized the other day that I spend a lot of time mentioning how much time I don't have. I am always running behind & scattered. I decided to try an experiment with myself. Before bed I repeated in my head before I fell asleep "I have lots of extra time everyday" over and over. Funny thing that has happed to me is that the clock actually seems to be going slower & I am able to accomplish everything on my to-do list. I am less stressed.
Try it with the negative talk in your head. What keeps repeating in your head? "I am stressed out", "I don't have the money", "I am always late", "I am not worthy". Replace it with the opposite & keep repeating it. Note the changes you see in your gratitude journal. It will amaze you!
Wishing you peaceful thoughts today,
Amy
