I have heard lots of people talking about sore muscles and aching backs. That lead me to do a little investigating on what might be able to help.
Did you know that the Mayo Clinic did a study on 150 people aged 10 to 65 with persistent, nonspecific musculoskeletal pain. They were screened for vitamin D serum, 140 out of 150 were deficient.
With the vitamins in our food not giving us the support we need. Supplements are necessary. The other problem we are facing is the fear of the sun which is where we absorb vitamin D on a daily basis. Some doctors are recommending moderate sun exposure for children and adults for one hour per day.
If you are suffering from lots of muscle pain you might want to try adding additional Vitamin D to your diet and see if you feel any better.
Wishing you peaceful thoughts today,
Amy

Amy you're so right! A couple of months ago I finally forced myself to visit my primary care physician to see if we could figure out why I hurt all over and felt pretty rotten in general. He suggested doing blood tests for several things, one of which was low vitamin D. When I got home, I looked at how much of it I was already getting in my multivitamin and calcium supplement, and thought "There's no way I'm low in Vitamin D."
But yes! My tests showed that I was STILL below the minimum recommended amount even though I was taking what seemed to be plenty. I added in a vitamin D supplement and within two weeks I was feeling AMAZINGLY BETTER!! I will get a follow-up check to see what my levels are in another month. My muscle pains have nearly vanished, my terrible periods have improved, and my outlook on life is better as well. I have encouraged many of my women friends to check their Vitamin D level--one pal did and hers was even lower than mine so she's now on supplements as well.
Thanks for bringing up this topic Amy!
Thank you so much for doing that research. I seem to have muscle paid quite often, especially in the winter or rainy season. That would make sense, I am not out in the sun as much then.
I will be going to get a vitamin D supplement today and give it a try.
Yes, my doctor also recemmended me vitamin D supplements for muscle pain, I used to get them through Puritans Pride.
